Digital Dreams: Providing Computers to Marginalized Schools
According to a recent survey conducted by the National Statistical Office, only about 24% of Indian women aged 15 to 29 have ever used the internet, compared to 44% of men in the same age group. To fill this gap, SDEF took the initiative of providing 10 refurbished Dell desktops to Arya Kanya Mahavidyalaya, a girls’ high school in Hisar, cofounded by the Aggarwal Family. The donation significantly impacted the education and lives of young women of Hansi, Hisar.
Sashakt e-tablets: Bridging the technology gap for underprivileged
SDEF participated in an initiative to donate electronic tablets to the Rotary Club of Delhi Rohini, which aimed to provide access to technology for less privileged students. The initiative is part of SDEF’s commitment to promoting equal opportunities for education and reducing the digital divide in India. With the ongoing pandemic and the shift towards online education, access to technology has become more important than ever before.
Step Up with SDEF
Sashakt Development and Empowerment Foundation (SDEF) collaborated with the Rotary Club of Delhi Rohini in their drive to donate shoes to underprivileged students. The initiative was undertaken in response to a request received from North Nigam Pratibha Vidyalaya, a school located in the outskirts of Delhi. The school serves a predominantly low-income population and many of its students do not have access to basic necessities such as shoes.
