Pedal for Progress with Sashakt
Sashakt Development and Empowerment Foundation (SDEF) has always believed in empowering underprivileged sections of society by providing them with the necessary resources and opportunities. In line with this philosophy, SDEF donated bicycles to the Lions Club of Millennium Charity Trust, as a part of its “Pedal for Progress” initiative. The bicycles were distributed to young girls from marginalized backgrounds, who often face difficulties in commuting to schools or workplaces due to a lack of safe and reliable transportation options.

The SDEF aligns with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals 3 (Good Health and Well-being), 4 (Quality Education), 5 (Gender Equality), 8 (Sustainable Economic Growth), 10 (Reduced Inequalities) and 15 (Protect Terrestrial Ecosystem) through its initiatives.
By promoting comprehensive healthcare programs, the foundation improves the health and well-being of underserved communities, addressing SDG 3. Their initiatives include organising medical camps, providing access to essential health services, and promoting mental health awareness, which directly contributes to enhancing overall community health and ensuring well-being for all ages. Their educational programs and scholarships ensure quality education for marginalised children, supporting SDG 4.
Additionally, SDEF works towards reducing inequalities (SDG 5, SDG 8 & SDG 10) by advocating for equal rights and opportunities. They empower women, support the differently-abled, and implement inclusive programs to bridge social gaps. Through these efforts, SDEF contributes significantly to these critical global objectives.
